With the wedding season in full swing, I know there are a bunch of ladies right about now that are stressed out to the max about planning a bachelorette party! The pressure of coordinating the perfect girl’s night out could turn out to be one major pain in the @$% … oh and not to mention the time suck of all the group emails and the texts about the where to go and how much it will all cost! It’s enough to drive you up the wall! So, to be sure things don’t get out of control and you’re not cutting out a paper penis crown on your lunch break (#crazytown), I have gathered 5 easy tips for planning the best night out for your bride!
Make the celebration about the B R I D E
Don’t try to please everybody. Just try to make the B R I D E happy! It is her celebration after all… isn’t it?! Take the bride out for coffee and pick her brain on her perfect Bachelorette. Is it packing a bag and hanging on the beaches of Mexico or renting a party bus and dancing the night away? Why put so much time and stress into a plan and have her completely hate it! Start a list of the must-haves and the off-limits now!
Make everyone download Venmo…now!
Get a sense of how much everyone is willing to spend. As we know parties can easily add up and if your getting on a plane… plan for even more $$! Calculate the overall costs and add in some buffers. Things are always overlooked and who knows when something might come up. Be transparent about the cost and set dates for when the payments are due. At this point if any of the girls had a concern about the cost and know they can’t swing it, they will pass. Once the budget is decided, suggest everyone download the Venmo app immediately! This way there are no excuses and an easy way to track who paid what! This was possibly my best friend during this task and made life so much easier.
Take Charge and Delegate
Once you have decided on the plan, organize a list of who will do what. Just because you are the Maid of Honor doesn’t mean you have to do it all! Put those girls to work and spread the love! Just make sure you are delegating with care! Giving a very large task to a girl you know will procrastinate for weeks before the party might get you in some hot water later down the road. Plan the big pieces of the celebration wisely and let the others handle the rest.
Add in the fun and stay organized
No matter where you may roam, adding in the perfect mix of activities and games is a must! Sketch out the details of the day with a fun itinerary card made on Etsy to let everyone know what the plan will be. Make the brunch and dinner reservations well in advance and always have a backup plan! Weave in some games throughout the party to keep the momentum going, but do not let them take over. Not everyone is as into “have you ever” game as you may think.
Let the Bride have her moment!
Shine a spotlight on the bride-to-be! This will possibly be the only time it’s acceptable to walk around with a “Future Mrs” sash on all night all night long! So, splurge on the gag gifts that make amazing photos and pitch in to purchase a thoughtful gift like a personalized robe or pajama set she can wear the day she says “I do”.
Ox Happy planning to all of my Maids of Honor!
