In my opinion there is nothing worse than inviting your guests into a room for an party without music.
No matter what the tone or type it always sets the mood of the event and gets people excited. I mean really though what is a party without it?
Throughout my time of planning parties, I’ve always found so many get lost in the décor portion and leave the music details to the very end. By that time, its too late and we are just shuffling through an already created “party” playlist on Spotify. These are great; however, they are not tailored to your event or your crowd. The playlist might not be long enough or created for adults when children are present… (oops earmuffs) might come a little too late for your little ones!
So, as you are creating your to-do list for your next upcoming party, set aside some time to create a customized playlist to fit not only your type of party, but your guests. I would recoomend at least three hours of music for each playlist to be sure there are no repeats.
I use Spotify and I LOVE IT. This app gives you the ability to create a number of different playlists at one time for a small monthly fee. I highly recommend downloading this app now if you haven’t done so already. It’s kinda a MUST.
Things you’ll need to consider when creating your playlist:
- Guest list
- Timing of the party
- Theme
- Will people be networking or speaking over dinner
- Will there be dancing
- Length of event
Don’t be afraid to add in your favorite tunes or get a little cheesy. Every time I have ever mixed a good cocktail with a little *NSYNC and Michael Jackson, its been the BEST NIGHT EVER.
So, here is one of my favorite playlists I have on constant repeat and always a huge hit at parties.
I know this will not disappoint!
